Tara Sharifan PsyD

Tara received her bachelor's of science in psychology from Westminster College and her doctorate of psychology from Pacific University. She began working with children and families impacted by behavioral health concerns in 2008 at Primary Children's Hospital residential treatment center. Since then, Tara has gained experience working with youth in schools, homes, and hospitals. Her training as a pediatric psychologist allowed her to learn from leaders at Oregon Health and Science University, Randall Children's Hospital, and Primary Children's Hospital.

Tara enjoys working with children of all ages and their parents. Her areas of focus include anxiety and behavioral problems, pain and chronic medical conditions, and gender diversity (transgender and gender non-conforming youth). She practices from an integrated biopsychosocial and cognitive behavioral therapy approach. She is a member of the Utah Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Tara is thrilled to join Busy Bee Pediatrics as a behavioral health specialist and enhance comprehensive care for our youth and families. Her expertise in child development and behavior compliments primary care regarding concerns such as tantrums, eating and sleeping problems, and pain-management. Her understanding of psychological concerns allows for management of additional issues faced by children and teens such as anxiety, depression, and social challenges.

In her spare time, Tara enjoys being with family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling.
